Whatever your level from beginning/beginner to intermediate/advanced, there will be something for you.
Facilitators for this camp are: SHARA CLAIRE, SUSAN CROWE, MICHELLE CURRIE, LORI FITHIAN, CAROLL HALFORD, BARB PITCHER and AMY OAK, QUEEN, VIVIENNE SUN, JESS STEINBERG, CARU THOMPSON, and AFIA WALKING TREE.
Beginning FRIDAY 3pm through SUNDAY 3pm, we will gather along the shore of Lake Huron, at Lambton United Church Centre. The camp is located near the village of Kettle Point, between Sarnia and Grand Bend. The centre is situated on 105 acres of beautiful woods and open spaces, with a sandy beach just steps away.
Lambton Centre is approximately 100 km west of London, 250 km west of Toronto, 60 km north of Sarnia, and 70 km / 40 miles to Port Huron, Michigan (map and directions).
Each participant will need to provide her own bedding, sheets, blankets, pillow, towels, etc.
NOTE: bunkhouse spaces are limited; we will assign on a first come basis until all are filled.
If you would like to share a cabin with anyone registering at a different time, identify yourself with a group name on your registration form. Please note that groups may not necessarily have exclusive use of the cabin. Unless your group completely fills the available beds, you may be sharing with other women as well.
Smoking is limited to specific outside areas only.
All meals will be wholesome, plentiful, and delicious, with a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Women who have other dietary requirements must bring their own supplements. There will be six meals—the first on Friday evening—and two snacks.
Call with your specific requirements. We will work with you, and hopefully meet your needs.
Work exchange positions are integral to the success of our camps. However, they are limited. Please call for more information and availability.
If you will need a ride from the airport, bus station, or rail station, we will happily arrange a shuttle for you at minimum cost. Call for details or to book this service.
The Marketplace will offer you a selection of DRUMS, BELLS, & DRUM ACCESSORIES, etc.
By popular demand, Caru Thompson will again be offering a shekere-making workshop this year at Southern. This exciting adventure begins on Friday at 3pm. Space is limited to the first 15 women. An additional fee of $30 (to help offset the cost of materials) must be included with registration fee.
This year, Michelle Currie will be offering our first-ever Wellness Through Mindfulness workshop. Learn how to reduce stress, rediscover creativity, and re-energize through group drumming and Mindfulness Meditation. This workshop is suited for beginner drummers but is also open to those looking to experience the benefits of meditation.
The fee includes ALL workshops, activities and the use of all facilities; meals and snacks; and housing accommodations as chosen.
